Abstract

Thorax radiography is an examination of the thorax using X-rays to show the anatomy and abnormalities that occur in the thorax. Lung tumors are abnormal lumps in the body, which can be benign or malignant. This study aims to determine the procedure, shooting conditions, types of X-ray machine, image processing and results of images on chest radiography with suspected lung tumors. This research was conducted on a patient who had a chest radiographic examination with suspicion of lung tumor at the Royal Prima Medan Hospital with a type of research using descriptive qualitative research. Data collection was carried out based on field research (field research) by means of observation. The conclusion from the results of chest radiography examination is that the thorax examination uses Antero-Posterior (AP) projection and image processing uses Digital Radiography (DR) which shows an image of opacity in the lower right lung. However, the collimation settings for this examination are not optimal. It can be seen from the use of collimation that is too large where the resulting radiograph shows air in the stomach.
