Abstract

Nephrolithiasis is a disease with the symptoms of finding one or more hard masses in the renal tubules, calix, infundibulum, renal pelvis, and all parts of the kidney. Examinations that are often used in the diagnosis of nephrolithiasis are imaging tests, one of which is a CT scan. This study aims to determine the non-contrast Urological CT Scan procedure with clinical nephrolithiasis and the absence of contrast agents in this examination at the Radiology Installation of the Adventist Hospital Bandung. The research method used is descriptive qualitative research with a case study approach. Data were collected through direct observation techniques for examinations, interviews with radiology specialists and radiographers, as well as examination documentation studies. The data that has been collected is then analyzed to get conclusions. The results showed that the non-contrast Urological CT Scan with clinical Nephrolithiasis conducted at the Bandung Adventist Hospital was in accordance with the Hospital's Standard Operating Procedures. The reasons for not using a contrast agent include: because by not using a contrast agent the radiologist can be more objective in assessing, measuring, and knowing the position of the stones because they are not obscured by contrast agents. And this examination can be done in the case of patients who are contraindicated against contrast Substance.
