Abstract
This research aims to determine the radiation exposure to the X-ray tube and the environment around the X-ray unit.Measurement of the rate of exposure to the radiation dose of X-ray unit using a digital survey meter measuring instrument carried out at five observation points, namely in the operator's room, in a dark room, behind Pb glass, lecture room, and on street A.This research is a qualitative descriptive. The population of this research was the entire radiation dose by purposive sampling with selecting the highest radiation dose in the operator station at 50 nSv/h.The research was conducted at the Radiology Laboratory of STIKes Senior Medan using conventional X-ray instruments, digital meters and survey meters. The results of measurement of the radiation dose exposure rate produced by the x-ray unit in various directions obtained the greatest radiation found on path A of 206 nSv/h. From the results of the research, it was concluded that the tube and X-ray unit environment was fit for use and safe to live in.For further researchers, it is necessary to conduct a tube leak test by enabling a deer collimator system and a more efficient observation point.
